Monday 6th September 2010
Today was our first campaign lesson and we had an introduction about what are initial ideas about campaign were. We were also given an introduction about what we would be doing in this unit. As a class we came up with different well-known campaigns and discussed promotion methods.
Monday 13th September 2010
We were put into groups and picked a campaign to research. My group chose smoke free campaign and we discussed about their aims and were responsible for creating a PowerPoint presentation about our chosen campaign.
Wednesday 15th September 2010
Today we were put into groups again and were given a newspaper article. Each group picked out the sentence or phrase that we thought to be important from the article and then we put them together to make a story. We used these phrases/sentences and make freeze frames or still images from them. We had three freeze frames.
Monday 20th September 2010
Today we did warm ups at the start of the lesson. We were also put into groups again and were given an issue. As a group we had to produce a short scene based on our issue and our audience had to try and figure out what our issue is by watching our performance. The issue we were given was, should men wear skirts.
Monday 4th October 2010
Today we had two professional actors come in to work with us today, Mark and Alex. They came and helped us with ideas for our campaign. As a class we decided that the main subject of our campaign is women and each of our groups would pick a section within the issue e..g. how women are presented and perceived by media. My group chose women in the media and bullying. We began thinking about ideas on how we could grab the audiences' interest and present our issue.
Monday 11th October 2010
This lesson we were given worksheets and had to fill them out. We looked at posters and talked about the differences and how they were different. We thought about what made them different etc.
Wednesday 13th October 2010
Today Alex and another one of his colleagues came in to help us again. Our campaign has many scenes and the one that we rehearsed today was the classroom scene.
